How to Disable Google Play Protect to Install Kidsafe360

Seeing "Harmful app blocked" or "This app was blocked" while installing Kidsafe360? That's Google Play Protect, and it's easy to get past in under a minute. Here's exactly how.

Why this happens

Google Play Protect automatically scans and flags any app installed from outside the Play Store as "unrecognized," no matter what the app actually does. Since Kidsafe360 is installed directly from an APK file (not the Play Store), Android shows this warning during setup. It's expected — not a sign that anything is wrong.

Option 1: Tap "Install Anyway" (Fastest)

On most Android phones, Play Protect shows a warning screen with an override button right in the install flow:

  1. Tap the Kidsafe360 APK file to begin installing, as normal.
  2. If you see "Play Protect doesn't recognize this app" or "Harmful app blocked," tap More details.
  3. Tap Install anyway (or Install without scanning) at the bottom.
  4. Continue with the installation as usual.

Option 2: Turn Off Play Protect Scanning

If your device doesn't offer an "Install anyway" option and blocks the install completely, turn off Play Protect scanning first, then install:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app.
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Play Protect.
  4. Tap the settings gear icon in the top-right.
  5. Turn off "Scan apps with Play Protect."
  6. Go back to the Kidsafe360 APK file and install it normally.

A few manufacturer-specific Android skins (some Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo devices) add their own extra install confirmation on top of Play Protect. If installation still fails after Option 2, check for a similar security / "unknown apps" toggle in your phone's own Settings app under Security or Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps, and allow your file manager or browser to install APKs.
